Ear
The ear is the organ responsible for detecting sound and maintaining balance, consisting of the outer, middle, and inner ear.
How the Ear Works
The ear functions by capturing sound waves through the outer ear, transmitting vibrations via the middle ear bones, and converting them into electrical signals in the inner ear. These signals are then interpreted by the brain, allowing us to hear. Additionally, the inner ear also plays a crucial role in maintaining balance by detecting changes in head position and movement.
